Neighbourhood House

The Old Courthouse Community Centre receives Victorian State Government funding to provide Neighbourhood House services.We are a member of the South West Network of Neighbourhood Houses that comprise of Casterton, Portland, Hamilton, Camperdown, Pt Fairy, Warrnambool and Simpson.  Neighbourhood Houses Victoria is the peak body that represents the sector.

This centre is an important hub, the committee and staff live locally ensuring our services are coordinated by people who understand and care about their community...

Under the Neighbourhood House banner are the: 

  • Men’s Shed
  • Ladies Lounge 
  • Senior Kiosk with Free internet Access
  • Book exchange 
  • Craft and the Inkspillers writers group 
  • With funding provided by the Glenelg Shire we also offer School Holiday activities

This centre connects the community by offering a wide range of volunteering, social and specific pre-accredited training activities. Both buildings are used by the community consistenty and we offer photocopying and administration support.

Tax Help and Volunteer Coordination are facilitated through our Social Support Coordinator.
